99 E300TD
I need to replace the return line #119 in drawing. But it looks like you have to remove the manifold to get to the banjo bolt! Say it isn't so!!

Any help

Its so. The banjo is on the cyl head side of the IP; under the IM.

20nm on IM bolts.

Another fine example of Teutonic engineering. Having owned V-Dubs from a 67 fastback on up, I shouldn't have expected any less

Thanks,
Robert

If you hunt long enough you'll probably find that they make a "factory tool" with 14 universal joints and extensions that will allow you to get to that bolt from below. The tool probably wont cost more than $2000 and will last many lifetimes cause you'll only need it once.......

Got to love it!

Well, I've removed the head bolts but there seems to be a plethora of bolts-fasteners-circlips-etc, that are also holding the IM fast.

What else should I be looking for...other that an acetylene torch?
