turn signals inop

The turn signals in my 84 300D are not working along with the hazard lights. After searching I found some info that makes it appear that the flasher is part of the hazard switch like it is on my 77 240D but I have also seen posts that indicate that the flasher is under the ashtray. Which is it and do I need both the flasher and hazard switch?

Most likely a dirty hazard light switch in the console

I believe your 84 would have the turn signal relay under the console, fwd and to the left of the shifter, unlike your 77 240D.

Yes it will. I drive a customers car sometimes and when the turn signals dont work, i just fiddle with the hazard switch and then the turn signals start working again.

However there is a relay under the center console woood that could be bad. But i personally would put my money on the dirty switch.

same issue with my newest, a 1982 300D....hazards worked, blinkers did not. I did all the switches and that took care of the blinkers....

my hella hazard switch was the kind that you have to disassemble from the bottom, funky lil bugger...but it's done now.. I did have to jiggle it a bit...I'll keep my eyes out for a new switch

on to the windows
