Craftsman 3 Drawer Tool Box

I was at Costco yesterday, and they have the All metal Craftsman 3 Drawer tool box for $39.99.

I was in Orchard Supply Hardware yesterday and checked with the craftsman tools they have, and the tool box there is $59.99.
OSH was bought out by Sears a few year ago, so then carried their tools. Now Sears and OSH are owned by K-Mart.

That is a large spread in the price.

I have the Craftsman 2 drawer metal box that I drag around to PNP, and it has held up well for the weight that is in it for all my "Diesel tools". that should keep it in the Diesel forum.

Where is everyone this morning Iam the only one on the Whole forum and no guests. this is like a Ghost Town.

For a toolbox that you plan on carrying farther than from the back of your pick up to the garage, keep it small and pay constant attention to what really needs to be in it.

I have four BIG roll around chests with every tool you can imagine and I DO NOT work with anything but complete socket sets, all kinds of wrenches and everything under the Sun. I loathe gadget tools, but for a compact box, they definitely have merit. There are such things like pivoting end wrenches with four sizes on each end. Things like this normally are nothing but a means of drawing bad words out of my mouth. To keep a tool box light for emergencies or PNP as you call it, they can work out well.

I use tool bags for going to the yard. Much easier to deal with.

Unfortunately I do not have any kind of rolling toolbox/chest. I have been looking recently and it seems that everything is either too cheaply made or ridiculously expensive.

Did you come by your sense of entitlement honestly, or was it something that you just "picked up?"

My pull a part is so cheap its idiotic to try to steal from them. That and the off duty SWAT guy in full dress is enough to convince me not to.

Surprising spread in PNP pricing....

Last time I was there I got a matched sets of euro light assemblies (without the covers ) but with perfect headlights and white fog lights for about $60.

IIRC that is about 1/2 the price of a new foglight alone.

It was really tempting to pull the headlightlight wiper motors, but I resisted......

back to the op. when the MAC man came to the shop, youd be suprised at the amount of repos they have.

you can get a really good deal on a professional roll cart, i bought a roll cart for 80% off it came to 89.00 and its 3 drawers. make sure youre buying a good craftsman cart with the bearing drawers. i bought one a while back at k mart for my shed, and it couldnt even hold my drawer full of hammers.

pnp prices are ridiculous, when i lived in PA there was a yard that was almost giving parts away. i used to grab a handfull of relays for a few bucks. lkq now wants almost 5 for one relay. it adds up, especially for an as-is part. im all about honesty, however when theyre paying 200 for a car, and selling the radiator for 100. its ridiculous.

Wrenches with 4 sizes on the ends can be decent if you get these.

I actually often prefer those to the separate wrenches (or sockets) of that size
