W123 Receiver hitch $172 this week!

Hey all, I saw that Advance Auto has a 15% sale for items over $100. This means you can get the CURT hitch (the one that is a Class 1 receiver style, bolts to body, NOT the bumper) for $172 with free shipping. Buy Curt 1-1/4" Receiver - Class 1 Hitch 11805 at Advance Auto Parts

This is a deal if you have been following the price on this. I was going to buy one for my sedan (all I could see is that the exhaust was a little different from the wagon, might take a little sawzall work on the pipe) but my buddy just gave me a AstroVan hitch that I think I can modify for less than $172.

I think the sale ends Oct. 1

Use code SP15

It says $202 but put in the code and it drops to $172.something.

Thanks for the tip. Is this a sedan or wagon hitch? Do you think it will tow a W123 on a car dolly?

The Curt 11805 is for a wagon.

As stated by Sugi, the exhaust clearance would be a factor in installing this hitch on a sedan.

Sugi - thanks so much for posting this. i was just planning to outfit our new-to-us wagon with a hitch and you just saved me a LOT of money.

plus they'll be emailing a $50 coupon for me to use toward a future $100+ purchase.

awesome!

THANK YOU!

That is an excellent price on a wagon hitch. I think I paid close to $300 for my last one I bought from JC Whitney.

Is it possible to modify the exhaust to use this hitch? I've found NOTHING except the "Shin-Buster" non receiver type for my 240d. The bumper mount locations are the same, correct?
