Fintail electrical question

Car: 1962 mercedea 190c 4 spd gas
Just put in new battery going 60 mph or 100 kmh i will read 16 volts butin the city driving normally im at 12 - 14... Is this normal?

!6 volts is too high. If your meter is acurrate, it's most likely a faulty voltage regulator. It may be possible to adjust the original regulator on a generator-equipped car like your '62 fintail.
