Vlave Wrenches 617 sold on Ebay appear to be new Manufacture not welded.

300d w123 diesel 617 240d valve adjustment wrenches

Mercedes Diesel Valve Adjustment Wrench Set

Fit's 240 and 300d 617 engines.
-Precision Made in the U.S.A.
-3/16 thick Stainless Steel
-Works Great
-Nests Perfectly

Don't know if these are bent Bicycle Wrenches or purposly made Wrenches.

Hazet Wrench head thickness is real close to 1/4 Inch; so at 3/16" thick the Ebay Sellers wrenches are thinner yet.
Handles seem a little shorter than the Hazet set.

Interesting - I've got a set of wrenches that weren't made by Hazet - I can't remember the name I'll go and check in a bit.

The pictures look like they are wrenches made from cut and bent steel sheet to me.

How much do these replicas cost?

Two other manufacturers...

The valve spring holding wrench I've got is made by Heyco (marked W-Germany so shows its age)

It has a MB star on it and part number 615 589 00 03 00

(some of these numbers get me confused especially when they have an extra two digits on the end - but anyway it is there)

The valve nut wrenches are made by Lumen part number 621 589 00 01

PS I hope the back ground hatching in the photographs help those who want to make their own. Each side of the squares are 2.5 cm

I also have a set of Heyco Valve Adjusting Wrenches. The head thickness is Heyco = 0.212 and the Handles are slightly longer than the long Hazet ones.

If you want to know the const of the Wrenches I would plug in some of the text I wrote; copied from the Add and look up the Cost. Or, just search for Mercedes Valve Adjusting Wrenches.

OK the ones I spoke being sold on eBay of in the First Post are $29.95+$5 shipping.

I also picked up a Hazet 3 wrench set several years ago for about $60 but it took almost 1 and1/2 years of being out bid before I got them at that price.

That would depend on what you plan to do with them.
Personal Use, resale as loaners?

Are people in Europe as do-it-your-self as they are here; here a lot of people tinker with their Cars; at least when it comes to common component replacement suff like Brakes, Belts, Hoses and so on?

For myself if the cost is not too much (meaning I believe I can recover my cost if I resold them) I will sometimes by tools out of curiosity.

So I am slightly a tool Junkie and will buy Tools I have no immediate need for if I believe the price is good.

I also have one of the shorter Handled Hazet Wrenches. It is handier back against the Fire Wall than the Longer Handled ones.
