Door Lock Problem
Hi, I've replaced the passenger side door handle because the tumbler was busted. All door locks function as desired including the trunk and fuel door via the drivers side door lock. However, when I lock the door on the passenger side it doesn't engage with the entire system. Only the passenger door locks. It seems odd that the driver's side door lock actuates the system properly but not the passenger side door... Any thoughts?

What year and model car is this on? What you describe is normal operation for a W123 based car, but isn't for some W124 based ones.

My 126 is the same, but thats the way its suppose to be. Only the driver's side front will lock all doors when locked.

I just checked it on the 1990 420SEL. On that car the passenger door lock actuates the entire system. When I lock the passenger door all the doors lock as well as the trunk and the fuel door.
Can someone confirm that the 1984 works differently...i.e. that the passenger door only locks that one door and doesn't engage anything else? Confirmation would be appreciated. It has been awhile since that other lock worked so I can't remember what it is supposed to do. The owner's manual is kind of vague as to what is supposed to happen.

The older MB's everything is designed for only the driver's door to control all the other locks. The front passenger lock only unlock/locks that door.
