Fuse to protect HVAC controls??? How to???
Is there a good way to protect the HVAC panel from getting fried from a bad aux heat pump?

Circut overload protection?
I would think that an inline fuse spliced between the pump and controller would serve the purpose nicely. A waterproof fuse holder and good solder joints should do the trick. Connections should be heat shrinked, the type with the meltable lining should last forever. Good luck and please update this thread if you do this. I've always thought that the similar problem with the Cruise Control could stand this sort of preventative measure also?

I think normal draw is 1.3 amps to aux. H2O pump. Someone was recommending a 3 amp inline fuse (quick blow?) to protect the climate control PBCU. Could be wrong on the exact figures, but i went out and bought the holder and fuses based on what I had read at the time. Have not installed yet, however.
EDIT: Should be 2 amp. fuse.

Fuse rating?
Search the threads for this because in one of then someone mentions the amperage that fries the PC Board traces. I seem to remember slightly mor than 2 amps mentioned and the 1.3 amp motor draw as the maximum!!! Could be worth a thorough check. It would be more important to use a lower rated fuse to protect the board rather than having fuses blow and the motor not running. A DC circut breaker might also be a possiblity.
