change in how my 300D shifts
Not sure this is an issue or not, but recently when first starting out, my 93 300D 2.5T, (138K miles) really revs high before shifting to top gear and seems reluctant to drop into the high gear. It just kind of hangs in 3rd or whatever the next to high gear is at around 2800-3000 RPM. I play with the footfeed and it still is reluctant and then finally will shift. Seems to shift through the other gears OK. No slippage or real slow gear changes when it does shift, just seems reluctant to go into high. Also seems to shift more normal after the car warms up. It only seems to be a problem from first trips of the day on colder mornings. Anything to be looking for or worrisome here?

anyone got any thoughts? Really hangs for the first couple shifts (no slipping or flaring but rather just seems to rev and not want to shift into high gear). After a few shifts and the car is good and warm it shifts like a new one.

Check for a vac leak or loose hose. Cold, stiff hose, then warms up, not so stiff.
