Early 123 metal sway bar links

Hey y'all. My 78 240 has metal sway bar links, unlike the 82 TD I had which had the white plastic ones. Do the metal links go bad like the plastic ones? Also I can't seem to find the metal ones in Fastlane, are the plastic white ones replacements for the original metal ones? I thought the metal ones used to be available.

A 77 280SE shows the metal bars. wonder if they are the same length as the one`s used on the W123?

I don't think the metal ones have been available for some time. Yes, the plastic ones bolt right up.

When I got my TD someone had pulled the metal links off. They were in the back of the car and at first I had a devil of a time figuring out what they were (had never seen the metal ones before).

I just went ahead and replaced them.

115 links are metal and bolt right in.

The issue I've encountered is a failed ball joint and the above appear to be a regular ball joint instead of the plastic ones for a 123.

Good to know.

I looked up 75 240D, and it shows the same part# W0133-1632187 as I posted above.

As I remember reading, the W115, W116, W123 & W126 all share the same rear suspention design. W126 up to 1985.
