Rocker panel cap trim problem on 81 300d
Has anyone had a problem with the aluminum strip that runs down the threshhold of their car coming off? I was vacuuming my car the other day, and when I pulled out the vacuum hose, it somehow "grabbed" the 3/8" (approx) strip on the black plastic cap of the rocker panel. Just wondering what type of adhesive would be recommended for reattaching it? Thanks for any advice.

I tend to like gorilla glue. Use it sparingly as it does expand while drying, plus you have to clamp the piece... But your strip looks bent up as well and that's going to be hard to correct. Might be easier to just replace the whole part form a parts car.

thanks! I've never used gorilla glue, but I've heard it really works well. Fortunately, the strip wasn't bent really, just pulled back. I'll try that and see how it works. I just wanted to make sure whatever I use will bond to aluminum and not cause oxydation that would mess it up.
