Seat belts, sticking.

Rear seatbelts sticking. Have to really work with them to get them to release a little at a time and let me use them. Any fix?

I would use a little spray oil with the tube attached to get down on the axle that the reel spins on.

Clean?

You might want to clean in there before spraying. I've seen hair wrapped up in there enough to hinder any movement. You should start thinking of sourcing a good replacement.

The sticking is more like what happens if you hit the brakes to fast. It's catching on that mechanism. I can't even use the drivers rear seatbelt due to this, I played with it for a while this morning and could not get it to release more than about and inch after going back and forth.

If course, they are different than the 85s. so no luck there...

I might be able to swap out the 85's with a little modification going out to take another look

I just acquired an 84 300TD that might become parts car --- I don't think the 82s and 84s were alike though. I can never remember what year they changed the sizes.

I envision some poor lady that got a wad of hair stuck in there as it reeled up, sounds painful.

My driver's seat belt seems to tighten down as I drive. Every 10 minutes or so I have to pull it back out, anyone ever dealt with that before.

Fix it.

I took out the belt, removed the plastic on the side that has the weight in it that controls the mechanism. Inside, there is a spring that provides the tension to pull the mechanism back so you can pull out the belt. I took off the spring, shortened it by 3 turns, and put it back. Snapped everything back together and vola! A working belt.
