Lemforder Engine Mounts
Following up on my last thread, I was looking for mounts for my 81 240D, but couldn't find Lemforder. Was worried that the other brands may be third world copies and not the same quality. I was pretty sure from my engine mount job on my 300CD, of which some pics of new and old mounts are here:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That the OE mounts that I had bought from the dealer were indeed Lemforder. So after verifying that 300D mounts can be used on 240D cars, I ordered Lemforder mounts from Phil for $26 instead of $134 for OE. I just got them today. Found that they were made in Turkey. Some images: ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm pretty sure that down to the two blue dots (which aren't shown in the pics from my last job, but that I remember as being there, and they are also referenced in 27-211 of the FSM), these are OE mounts. They certainly have a 123 part number cast in the rubber. So not German, but made in Turkey.
