That's true I haven't seen 100W light bulbs for ages - however you can still buy those portable sun halogen things that go into builders' work lights.

That's great info Govert! Just what I needed.

I got the replacement trans bolted up yesterday but ran out of time. I won't get to work on it again until Thursday but it should be on the road by the weekend, I hope.

I put the VIN into a decoder site (not the russian one) and it came back as a US model. I don't think that site is right or else someone went to painstaking measures to Europeanize the car.

It looks like China Blue to me but this website says "Labrador Blue" Are they that close?

Anyway, thanks again Govert and Army. Much appreciated!

I was hoping MB paint codes meant something like when the numbers are close to each other they are similar - obviously not!

Labrador blue = 312

China blue = 934

Mercedes-Benz Paint Codes

I wonder if you went to a paint shop and got them to print them out on a colour printer...

The two aren't very far off color-wise if you have nothing to compare side by side. When I put a Cina Blue door next to the car the difference becomes very noticeable.
