E320 CDI Checking Transmission fluid level
Hi folks, can someome give me the process to check the transmission fluid level on a 2006 E320 CDI I have a Stick - it had a red bar on it and that broke off.

You might get a quicker response in the tech forum since that's not a Diesel specific task and there isn't a big W211 presence here... yet.

There is no dipstick...you can't check the level. "Lifetime" fluid or some such nonsense. I think since they went to the electronic transmission in '97 they are "uncheckable".
When I had to change the contactor plate in the transmission of my '97, I kept track of how much fluid drained, and replaced with same amount. When I took it to the dealer to reset the code, they confirmed the level was good.

The measurements of the business end of the factory tool has been posted previously. It may be part of one of the 210 trans DIY pages.
To check, get it up to operating temp (80C) and check on level ground, engine on in park. Ought to be at the high side of the scale.
