Interesting that there's such a wide range in time.....anywhere from 45 minutes to four hours. What gives? Firestone's 1.3 looking pretty good.

No real surprise here. However, if they snap one of the fasteners, the real question is what are they going to do about it in one hour? |

Four hours quoted by first-rate MB tech with all the right tools. Maybe is building in breaking fasteners, etc...

I personally watched an experienced tech do both of them in less than one hour. You've got six screws............that's it. How could it possibly take four hours? |

Another engine mount Q, 87 300D
I know this has been covered before, but I'm not having luck with search, and searching on Google has twice led me to one of those "trap" spam pages you can't escape ... so ... is there or is there not a difference between the left and right mount on the 87 300D? I got them from the dealer, who said thet thought there was no difference ... the mounts have identical part #s and look identical outside. However, each has a yellow line and an F written on the bell, one with the F in the middle of the line and one with the line slightly around the bell from the F. Same on the old ones that came out. I noticed as I was doing the second mount that the line/F on the old ones were opposite to how I put the new ones in. Also on the old ones, there is a "34" on the rubber of one and a "35" on the rubber of another. I haven't fastened them back up, so if they're backwards, I'd like to know and swap them. I was fairly certain I'd read they were the same, and the PN suggests that, but the markings had me wondering if I was mistaken.

Doh, sorry guys, I meant to post that last question as a whole new thread, not hijack this one again. Apologize. Though at least it's kind of relevant.
FWIW I got the mounts out and in in about an hour and 15 minutes, backwards or not. ![]()
