Best junk yards near Dallas-Fort Worth for W123?

I live in Far West Texas and have limited junkyard opportunities. I'll be in the DFW area next week. I need a hood and drivers door for my '82 300TD. Any suggestions on good yards to check out?

Thanks!
Rob

Here is a map of the Pick-n-Pulls in the US. You can look up on the web which cars they have. Makes it easier than visiting every one.

A google map search can be helpful as well. Try searching for auto wrecking or junkyards. You'll get a lot more.

There used to be a couple of acres of old MB's on I-20 at Olden TX. Not sure if that yard is still there.

Try www.auto-part.com

Here is probably one of the better ones in Ft. Worth: Ace Auto Recycler
Call them ahead of time and they will give you a good run down on what they have, maybe even matching the color if not too rare. The prices listed are just a rule of thumb and in-person negotiating will get you a better price.

Also, here is a place that deals almost exclusively in older MB's and a little "closer" to Marfa, TX (lol)
Foreign Auto Parts, Inc.
8321 Interstate 20
Olden, TX 76466
(254) 653-2291

From my experience, the folks at both of these places are pretty good to work with. BTW, are there still sightings of the Marfa lights? The last time I saw them was in the early 80's. (Marfa is one of those places where it can take an hour just to get to dinner.) One of the coolest places in Tx in the summer time!

Thumbs up

Pick N Pulls are pretty hit/miss. There is some information online, but take it with a grain of salt. I went out there early this year looking for an E32 750iL in white... that was in current inventory there. I even forced an employee to show me where it was as they believed everything their PC showed. Guy went out there on the row and pointed out a white car... it was a Mitsu Galant, NOT the BMW. Told the chap I was looking for a Messerschmitt not a Zero. He walked off confused.

All Imports off Elliot Reeder was a good yard when I visited it often. There are a pile off Mansfield-Kennedale Highway too.

Depends where in DFW you will be located..........

Thanks for all the tips y'all. I'll be looking around there on Friday. I stopped by the Olden lot a couple years back. Is it the one on the south side of I-20? It looked more like a private collector's storage lot than a junkyard.

As far as the Marfa Lights, they're still hanging around. They are easier to see after a few Bud Lights.

Hey Marfa300td, If you see any W126s with good interiors where you go, please let me know. I need just about anything and everything for my 300SD and the interiors I saw at PNP were worse off than mine. Also, be careful at PNP, they will charge you for every single screw attached to whatever you want regardless if it is part of the device.
