PCV Oil Drain Check Valve

I was in the junkyard today working on the car I pulled the pan from a few weeks ago....the PCV drain tube was disconnected and I could see the nipple sticking out of the crankcase....the collar sticking out of the bottom...how do you get that sucker out??? I couldnt budge the collar or push the valve and nipple up....what gives? How do we take this apart???

The Nipple for the little Drain Tube the comes down form the Breather in the Air Filter on my year and model is about 3/8" in diameter and is cast into the Engine.
The Disc Valve that us under the Nipple needs to be pulled from below by remove almost circular split Collar before the Disk Valve is pulled.

The Turbo Drain can be knocked up and out from below.

Now, I've read your reply a few times but I'm not able to fully follow your instructions. I'm not flaming you , just wanting to know 'how to' that you wrote.

I remember doing this job a serveral months ago but IIRC the turbo drain check valve (?) just pulled out and I installed a new grommet and O rings..or was that the breather?

Looks like I should have got back to this thread sooner.
Also It looks like the Drain Nipple is actually part of the Uppper Aluminum Oil Pan Casting (not the Engine as I said before) and the Disc Valve is below that and accessed from below.

I am not sure that I described what the Original Poster is speaking of.

And, it was not really a how-to-do it. I thought once the location of the parts was found a way to get the Collar out could be figured out by the Orignal Poster.

With at least the small Oil Pan removed you need to get something to hook or a Screwdriver between the Disc Valve and the Collar and Pry it out by prying a little on one side and a little on another side going around the Collar until it is out.

In the Pic the #7 is the Disc Valve, Red Arrow points to the Retaining Collar, #6 Breather Drain Tube that goes up to the Air filter, the green Arrow points to the Turbo Charger Drain.

If you do not have #6 Breather Drain Tube you will not have a Nipple cast in to the Upper Oil Pan or a Disc Valve and retaining Collar.

I do not know if more detailed info is in the DIY section or not but I know people have replaced the Disc Valve but do not know how much they wrote about the job.

Are you talking about the check valve in the diagram above? I removed mine to clean it a few months ago when I did the turbo drain grommet and o-rings.

To get the collar out all you have to do is squeeze it with a pair of pliers and it comes right out (from below with the oil pan off). The check valve comes out with it (usually). The collar is split as mentioned above. Squeezing it, releases the pressure.

If I remember correctly that check valve is the same as the ones in the vacuum pump.

Yup snookwhaler...thats the collar I was talking about, I was working on one of them in a junkyard car, yesterday and today, no matter what I did I couldnt get the bastage to budge...perhaps channel lock pliers would be in order for the next trip there

Here you go. This is from above in the Resources section under DIY articles. This tutorial shows the collar as well as the check valve both in and out of the car. Maybe this will help? A picture is worth a thousand words...

I remember using a big pair of pliers to get it out of there. Just squeeze, twist and pull and it comes right out.

The check valve has been discontinued from Mercedes. I've read in other forums the the check valves from this rebuild kit are the same. Can anyone confirm?
