As they are the impact socket colour. They may be reasonably tough.

Anyone have any luck with chinese chrome sockets? In the past to me they were weak. Maybe improving? I doubt it though. I stayed away from them.

Very nice find especially for those who have several vehicles to work on.

For Canadians or anyone who deals with Sears:

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

Same price as HF. Last time I checked HF doesn't ship to Canada.

IMO; that tool design is junk regardless of who makes it.

I prefer the double hammer method to upset the taper.

On my jeep the #1 injector has a pop sensor so you have a pair of wires to accommodate with the injector. The Bosch socket/tool has a hole in the side like some of them. instead, I found that a 12 point long reach socket could be used by feeding the wire through the in-between point. Worked a treat.

I have found the cheap Chinese shiny chrome sockets to be weak as ####. Some of the older satin finished ones were much stronger. This was for 3/4 & 1" drive sets. The black finished tools tend to be hard faced but as brittle as glass.

Hmmmm I replaced the nozzles in both my SD's a few years ago. I dont recall using any special sockets to get them out. But then again they are both the 617..

Yep just a regular 1 1/16 deep socket will do the job fine. And one can buy that from sears so its not made in SlaveLand.

I never go to harbor freight anymore....not supporting the chinese garbage.

Absolutely. That only applies to Craftsman (or did, not sure how that works recently). These are Pittsburgh.

I have a set of Craftsman open end box wrench that look like the Gear wrenches. Made in China.

Iam done with Harbor Fright sockets. I have a set of 3/8 deep impact sockets. never used with an impact wrench. I was using the 13mm to remove the nuts off the filter lid on a PNP 617 engine. the damn thing broke down 3 sides.
I was using my 10 inch craftsman chrome plated wratchet.

Then I have a deep 17mm 1/2 in drive on a 18 inch braker bar. use it to loosen the lug nits on the MB`s and to torque them down with the torque wrench. Iam again in a PNP nd see a wheel I want off a W124. just using the braker bar, the socket split down the side. this one was not used with the impact either.

Great, Iam with you on this one. But what about Walmart, Target, Sears, Macys, JC Pennys, Bed Bath & Beyond and just about every other retailer out there? You just can`t get away from it. this chicom stuff is just every where.

When I bought the 5 new tires for our 240D, they were a Japanese brand, but made in, ......guess where?......China.
These have the new improved Bamboo belts.

I just bought a set of new tires. General Altimax HP's evidently Akron, Ohio based then sold to Continental AG in 1987. These tires were made in Brazil. My General Exclaim's were too. My General Altimax Arctics were made in German though!
