Vacuum line to turbo question

1984 300SD
There is a vacuum line that runs to a switchover valve on the front
passenger side and then goes to the front of the turbo.
This line is leaking vacuum and the car is slow to shut off.

Is this for overboost protection? I have a boost controller and gauge installed
and can monitor the boost that way.
Is it OK to just cap off the line coming off the front of the turbo?

Thanks,
Jeff

It's the ARV and is not overboost related. You can unplug it.

^ Agreed, a 1985 item only, or so I thought.

Thanks for the link, Charlie. My EGR is gone and now the ARV, too.
Got everything capped off today and now the engine stops immediately.
Just perfect. Thanks all for the help.

Jeff
