				Vacuum line to turbo question

1984 300SD There is a vacuum line that runs to a switchover valve on the front passenger side and then goes to the front of the turbo. This line is leaking vacuum and the car is slow to shut off. Is this for overboost protection? I have a boost controller and gauge installed and can monitor the boost that way. Is it OK to just cap off the line coming off the front of the turbo? Thanks, Jeff
