Drove a 300CD today for the first time +++

I have owned a couple of 300D's and a 300SD but I had never driven a 300CD. Well I drove a 85 300D today and I am really impressed. It drives sportier, holds the road better and has a lower seat position than the sedans. I had always wondered why the coupe received great reviews in the diesel forum. Now I know. BTW, it was Red/Tan, a beautiful color combo.

The 85 is better than all the earlier ones--The really got the gearing right,, mine is a good bit quicker than a sedan wagon in stop and go in town for sure, and they luv to gobble up the highway.

I thought the only difference on the couples was less doors, different seats and the roofline was lower. Are there actual suspension differences? I've looked at a couple and they seemed 100% 300D underneath....
