R4 hi/lo pressures.
What pressures are you guys getting with either R12 or 134a?
Thanks

TXV pressures are going to be different than your OT frankensystems, but most are going to be in the 40/200 range

Thanks, I was wondering about a stock TXV/R4 system that was working hard.
I'm mainly concerned with what kind of high side pressures one would see with a 134a conversion.

When my SDL was on R134a and the AC was running on any kind of warm day the electric radiator fans would kick on almost right away. The switch on my car clicks on at 250 PSI.
I'm running an alternate refrigerant now, with the fan on mid speed the pressures are 27 / 190 (at ~1100 RPM, with the electric radiator fans running. The high side got up to 250 then the fans kicked on, and stayed on until the compressor cycled). I thought that was a bit low, but the suction line gets nice and cold so we'll see how it works once things get really hot out. -J

Thanks. I'm just trying to get an idea about what would be too high and what would be ideal.

I'd venture that over 280 with the aux fan running is too high.
