115 biodiesel fuel line kit

I'm sure I'm kicking a dead horse on this forum, but my lackluster search skills turn up nothing (except WVO info). I am just wanting to run a 220D on B99. Haven't been able to find a Viton fuel line kit for 220D. Biodiesel is cheaper than regular unleaded here in Oregon, think I'm ready to make the switch. (Also for the planet and stuff. )

Go ahead and run B99. The BD is a solvent, and will eventually degrade old rubber lines, but it is slow. You'll see weeping long before any catastrophic failure.

Miles I've put on B100 without any catastrophic fuel line failure:

1983 300SD...44k. Found weep near fuel tank recently, changed lines.
1997 E300D...72k without fuel line issues. Car now sold.
2005 E320CDI...52k without fuel line issues.

The Fuel Injection Holse sold by the Auto Part Chain Stores is lined with Viton.
Fuel Injection Hose SAE J30R9 or 30R90 SAE 30R9-- But, the price has about doubled and it is in the 5-6 dollar a foot range. 5/16" ID works on the Fue Inlet Hoses.

For the Injector Fuel Return Hoses you will need to go someplace like this cite:
https://www.greasecar.com/productshttp://www.oediscountparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=searchCatalogOEM&siteid=215242

Or and industrial supply catalog like McMasters Carr.

Practice you Search Skills and search the word Viton.

Napa sells "Gates Barrier Hose" which is supposedly bio-resistant.

The hoses on a nearly 40 year old car may be ready to give out anyway, so it might not be a bad idea to replace them now, rather than waiting for a failure. A little "jiggle testing" should reveal any brittle lines, but don't try this with a full tank. Otherwise, just about any hose suitable for diesel will give a couple of years service. The expensive stuff probably lasts twice as long, but fuel hose is a higher frequency maintenance item when you are running bio-diesel.

Have a few extra sets of fuel filters on hand, as they may need to be replaced several times in the first few thousand miles. This is due to accumulated crud in the tank being dissolved by the biodiesel's higher solvent properties.
