belt tensioner bolt threads stripped

91 350 SDL the threads for the tensioner bolt were stripped in the block so I put a helicoil in and then I replaces the belt, tensioner, shock and spring and shortly there after the bolt backed out again. My question is does anyone have a fix for this problem or is there a threaded bushing that can be used in place of a helicoil? If so where can I get one? thanks jerry

One of the issues witn any of the Thread Inserts is if the Hole is drilled in staright. If not the Bolt will not go in straight.

There are different types of Inserts. Another is called I believe a Timecert; that may not be the correct spelling.

You might try Red Loctite. Later if you need to remove the Bolt you will need to heat it to melt the Loctite.

You can buy some other stuff in little squeeze tubes/viles called Vibratite. The Vibratite dries into a rubbery coating (you degrease the Bolt threads and coat it with the Vibratite and let the Vibratite dry) and is supposed to seal an prevent Bolts from coming out due to vibration.

This is more complicated and since I have not actually seen what you are doing I do not know if it is possible.
If there is room you buy a proper graded Stud. You JB Weld the Stud into the Block and use a Nut (a selflocking one like a Nyloc Nut) on the other end.

Helicoils have been used on striped Head Bolts and all kinds of other stuff so the issue may not be the type of thread Insert.
Whe Helicoils have issues it is often as I said due to the Hole not being drilled straight of the Hole getting enlarged due to the Drill Motor wabbeling when your are holding it.
I know this because I have trouble drilling straight when I use a had Drill Motor.

I believe the Timecert type inserts require a larger diameter Hole than the Helicoils do.

Close. It's Time-Sert - ++ TIME-SERT Threaded inserts for stripped threads, threaded inserts, thread repair stripped sparkplug's, Ford sparkplug blowouts, threaded inserts threaded, repair stripped threads, stripped threads, inserts threaded inserts, Ford spark plug repair,

Definitely Loctite and IIRC the torque spec is up there at 70Nm.

If you end up needing a new cover, get the latest iteration you can find. Original #00 on the left, latest [to my knowledge] #06 on the right -
