Trying to put everything back together, and I can't remember where this one hose goes. It's the rubber fuel return line from the last injector (closest to the firewall) .

Ah, ok. Yeah, I've got the end that goes to the filter, but couldn't figure out what to do with the other end. I'll go plug it up.

You might try cleaning the tank and lines, and putting in a good injector cleaner, or some ATF in the fuel.

My volvo dsl was behaving like that, infact it was a tad higher than your #4.
It turned out the 1 & 2 cyl head had a crack then.

If it drops to 150 lb then your engine kind of had it.

see if u can unstuck the rings.
good luck.

Yeah, I put the car on craigslist. Easy come, easy go. I'm going off to college soon, so I need a good daily driver.

No hits on craigslist, so it looks like I'm stuck with this car until I fix it.

I think there is a short in the starter wiring. I was cutting off a bolt on the exhaust manifold to midpipe connection to fix the exhaust leak. My sawzall blade slipped and poked the starter wiring. I'm pretty sure I heard a "pop", and there was a little smoke that came from the wiring.

Now, I tried to jump start it, and it has plenty of voltage at the battery (13-14v), but the starter barely moves. Also, the jumper cables were heating up a lot and started to melt a little in one spot. So I checked out the wiring at the starter, but I can't find anywhere that would short. I pulled back the large insulation to look at the separate wires, but they all seem to be insulated fine.

Is there a spot I can check the resistance of the starter positive cable to the ground to check for a short?

Thanks.
