Number of links in a 190D VS 220D Timing Chain?

I was wondering if someone can tell me the number of links in a 220D versus a 190D timing chain?

I’m working on a 1965 190Dc with a 220D motor in it. When I ordered the timing chain I thought it was a 190 motor, I believe the chain I have now is too long for the 220D. I count 69 double links or 138 individual links on the new (190) chain and unfortunately I can’t locate the broken chain I removed from the motor to compare it to. The 220D chains I’ve found online all say they are 136 links.

If the chain I have is just 2 links too long do any of you see a problem with just removing the extra links by grinding off the end of one of the pins and taking them off?

The new chain I have is an Iwis and has the following numbers on the box:
D67HP-7 138-VGLD/SS (1 ST)
50031570 KFZ
081 33013 301
001 997 31 94

Thank you for any and all help.
Sven
