Larger M Elements for sale in the US?

Hey guys,

Is there anyone selling larger elements for the M pumps in the USA?

I am not intending on "going Ape-*****" on building the pump to put out more power, but want to make sure that the fuel volume is greater than the VE pump I'm going to replacing with the M pump.

What do you have that has a VE pump in it in the US? I would stick with the VE, upgrades are cheap and plenty.

I was one of two guys who got some of the 6.5 redone mw from the german guy here, it did not work out for me sadly, one was a bad core and whoever redid it should have easily seen the element was tweaked out of shape, I got a full refind.

The motor is an OM602 DE2.9LA, so the pump is elecetronicly controlled. Besides, VE pumps are FAR more prown to have issues with "less than perfect" fuel.

I spend a fair amount of time in the Baja outback in the vehicle that has the motor so fuel quality is a big concern and I also have had a few scares when the ECU decided to not listen the throttle poteniometer.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I had to get the elements from the EC. This post was my last ditch effort before looking on the other side of the pond.

Is the Timing advance on a VE done with an Advanc Piston inside of the Fuel Injection Pump?

On the Mercedes Pump the Timing advance is external to the Pump.

Better and larger Filtration can take care of any Fuel quality issues.

Where did you get this engine? What is up with the end of the trans?

You will end up with an M pump not an MW pump. To switch over you will have to replace everything from the chain back. Timing gear and other intermediate parts. I will be more than happy to buy the intermediate pieces. M pumps are pretty easy to get larger elements for. Talk to dieselmeken @ std.

I did some research on this here : VE Pumps for OM engines

From a Dyno test lab. I came with a Getrag 717.433 5-speed and in a nicely constructed wood crate with MBZ logos on it.

The engine had only 100 hours of testing when I got it.

LOL. Thanks for the offer, but the VE pump, ECU, and all assorted sensor junk will be boxed up and stored up in the rafters of my shop.

In the little one, not the big one.

Yes, in the first ones. Also in the E290, GD290, & U100 Unimog.

Yes it is a Jeep Scrambler CJ8.

In all honesty, had I not gone down the Jeep path many years ago... I would have gone Toyota.

Injectors may need reset for lower pressure.
Now that I am progressing on this project I am starting to get concerned with the ability of the M-pumps ability to put out enough pressure (500 bar max.) for the dual stage injectors (0 432 193 768) with a "pop-off" of 190 bar. I am aware the a typical injector for a M-pump pop's off at 150 to 155 bar and the dual stage injectors can be adjusted down... But is this going to negate the performance of the direct injected motor, seeing is how the VE pump can output 1200 bar max?
