I'm gonna hijack this thread and talk about motor mounts
Apologies if I upset anybody about chiming in here - I just got a quote to do my '99 E300 TD motor mounts for ~$750. The car has 195,000 miles on it and it does shake a bit. That seems very high to do this job - does anybody agree?
I live in South East CT so maybe it is a regional thing. The MB shop gets about $112/hour for labor ![]() Thanks!

that seems high to me, maybe shop around some other indie shops, i have found some of the shops here in az to be really high for repairs and some much more reasonable
i cannot remember what the dealer quoted me for mine, but the indie did not think they needed doing and i have no shakes, shudders, etc

Its not a job that requires a MB tech. Is really very straight forward.
I can do them both in a little more than an hour with a floor jack and jack stands. You can check the cost of the mounts on this site and add $150 labor to get an idea how proud the dealer is of thier shop.
