remanafactured axle?
Anyone ever heard of AMERICAN REMANUFACTURERS, INC. for axles? They no longer seen to be around. I have one from a parts car and wonder if its any good.

they were a good company that made decent parts... china made them cheaper, and they went the way of the dodo...
in mid 90's thanks bill...

Thanks for the quick response, sounds like it might be worthwhile to install it when the time comes. It still has the AMERICAN REMANUFACTURERS, INC. tag on it.

No play and the boots look to be new. It couldn't have been on the car long as that AMERICAN REMANUFACTURERS sticker is still stuck to the axle.

you'd be amazed at how long it takes for a sticker to fall off on a non heated underbody part of a car... My 82SD still has the original MB sticker on the MUFFLER!

Are there any decent sources from reasonably priced W126 axles? I bought the China ones when I was at Advance Auto Corporate, but at the time, we only sold them for W123's. The worked good for me, but I would love to source W126 New axles...

the best scenario is to reboot the original ones before the original boots fail.
2nd is to surgically clean the axles where the boots have torn, have fresh oil and boots installed, and install them on opposite sides from originally used.
