We are dropping off the car for Wheel alignment tomorrow.
It has unacceptable wear on the left front tire.

I had not realized there were brush kits on ebay, so that is very helpful information. My favorite part of their description... "Takes less than 30 minutes to install!" Well, sort of.

The car refused to start 6° F, and she ran the battery down before waking me up.

I jumped her battery for 30 minutes, quick charge to prevent freezing, and we left for work in my 240D.

ASAP:
I will put a battery charger and block heater on it for a few hours, before starting + run a 110V power cord to her driveway.

A magnetic block heater has been on for 24 hours.

At the moment, it is to freaking COLD for working outside.

Sears Hardware has carbon brushes of various sizes. You may luck out and find ones that fit. If not, get one that's bigger and file it down to size. BTDT

I put a second magnetic block heater on the water jacket 1-10-2015.

Today 1-11-2015 the ambient temperature climbed to 31° F.

Her car started easily with a single glow cycle.

We have discussed leaving her car running in serious sub zero weather.

At the moment she will add a gallon of kerosene to each tank of fuel, for enhanced starting ability.

I strongly suspect fuel jelling was the issue, and the only answer to that is fuel thinning or heat.
