85 9 blade plastic fan

Is it really an improvement over the aluminum earlier 6 blade.

I thought the early fans were nine bladed aluminum just like the one off my M117. It is off the car, I am going to see if it fits as it has to pull more air as the blades are larger.

Late model 617s had a smaller water pump pulley also which spins the fan and pump faster.

Countless talk on this.

Only Mid-'83 to 1985 w126 300SD had the smaller water plump pulley. All w123 300D still had the larger pulley.


And yes there is an improvement in air flow with the 9 blade fan over the 6 blade fan.
