I'm looking for a 1993 300D 2.5 turbo conversion kit for the turbo to change from electronic control to pressure control like the 603x 1987

Until Kent Bergsma offers a kit, you have to buy the parts you need separately. There's a lengthy thread on the subject.

Update:
We hoped it was OK, but the turbo oil starvation was far worse than the crankshaft bearings.
The turbo died in spectacular smoke clouds, one quart of engine oil every three miles... Installed an OK used turbo, and it is back on the road. . |

Owner called me about a Horrible noise from the starter??? I drove to his house. Using 1 - 2 second cranks with a stethoscope: * Upon cranking; There was a grind/clank/kachunk from the starter - flywheel - bell housing area. * Something jammed - locked on the third crank attempt. * It was hauled back to my garage. * I put a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt, there is no motion in either direction. ######################## At this point, I am guessing: #1. The transmission must come out for any confirmed diagnosis - repair. #2. The flywheel is fractured and jammed. #3. The torque converter mounting plate fractured and jammed. #4. A catastrophic starter failure has somehow jammed the flywheel. #5. The flywheel bolts have broken, causing unknown secondary issues. . |

At this point, the valve is seized in the cylinder head. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps07660537.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps70e5cd2f.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps09e4a6d2.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psfbf7e519.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps2b71ae80.jpg . |

Wow, just went through this WHOLE thread and all the pictures. What a nightmare to say the least. The owner is enthusiastic about keeping it on the road. I would've parted it out by now. I just rebuilt the vacuum pump on my 92 300D 2.5. Just for peace of mind and so this doesn't happen.
|
I went through 2 Vacuum pumps, 2nd time it chewed out the timing gear. the residual metal is still sitting in my Oil pan.
|
It might be my eyes or your camera but I don't see the valve and prechamber indentations in the pistons and I can't distinguish the valves in the cylinder head.
