*WHEW*

Well, I just finished replacing both front door weatherseals on the 83 300D. Doors "pop" open now and are noticeably harder to shut, but I attribute that to the thickness or the new seals that will go away with use.
Hopefully it will stop the minor drafts I feel and also the small leak that comes from under the rear edge of the passenger side kick panel. The weatherseals were pretty bad. Cracked and brittle, they came out in small pieces rather than one big piece.

The only part that was a real pain in the a$$ was the area around the door check strap and the metal retainer/clips.

Next month, back doors.......Yipee!!

The rear doors are slightly trickier due to the limited room on the check strap area.

I did a write up a few months back, it should have all the p/n's for the clips you'll need on the rear doors.

My front doors are having the same problem. There's going to be lots of swearing and yelling involved in mine.

Hopefully, when all is said and done, your ears will pop when you shut the door.

Did you use MB gaskets or after market?

What stickum ( adhesive) did you use around the Door Check area?

I replaced the front door gaskets on the 85 300D a few years ago, from some I got off e-bay. they leak water across the top of the doors. gets real exciting going through a car wash. have lots of Rags on hand, Rain Coat and Bilge Pump.
I might have picked these up from Bigbabbo when he was still kicking.

The 240 needs door gaskets bad. I used black RTV to stick the cracked and broken pieces back together, and build up some missing edges. I had to add a section from the top of the door slope down to the mirror on the drivers side, from a good piece from PNP.
This is only a temporary band-aid till I can order new OEM one`s. at least it cut some wind noise.
