1991 350SDL needs a little help

Well, folks. I did it again.

I bought this 1991 350SDL yesterday after a short visit with the attorney on Monday. Attorney said that the divorce proceedings permit certain actions to continue if necessary for day to day and it's what you do. Well, I certainly do buy old diesel Mercedes that need a little help, tinker on them, and try to sell for a small profit.

I saw this car a few months ago. Yesterday was the buy day. I'm guessing some leaves got down on top of the resistor used to control the auxillary radiator fan on low speed.

I've acquired a fusebox with a million wires hooked to it, hood, and passenger front fender. More pics after I have the car in my possession. Seller has agreed to store if for a while. Car comes with a bunch of receipts. Engine was rebuilt at about 100K miles. I don't remember the exact mileage; however, with the exception of the 2 pics below, the car was in really good condition.

Wow! now that's a project! Hopefully not too much of the harness is burnt. Divorce proceedings? Sorry to hear that. Just fixed my 86 300sdl today. New tensioner arm, new shock, new belt, new spring and new caps on the pulley and the tensioner arm. I call it a success. Nice and quiet now. Also treated it to an oil and filter change and a new antenna rubber seal.
My old tensioner failed big time and lost all of it's grease in the bearing. It Looked like it had puked all of it's guts out. Very pleased with the fast service here at Pelican parts!

Ouch- that's ugly, and why I keep all the debris cleaned out on my 350SD!

Good luck with the repair, et al.

Was the right fender collateral damage from the fire fighters?
