Nice Hazet box. Are you eliminating cruise control?

Thanks, only paid 45 euros.

I am not going to bother with cruise control but I may have to keep it in place from the 603 so I can have a linkage to go to the throttle position sensor. Unless I get ahold of a 606 NA linkage. The throttle cable part is still on my back burner since I am still needing to test the engine. I think its going to run just fine, turning it over by hand shows it has compression and a lot of it.

Well while I was doing the oil today on the 603 I looked more at the transmission in the car and the 722.6. It looks like its not going to be an easy bolt in ordeal as far as the transmission mount/cross member go. Next time I go to the yard I will take apart a W124's drive shaft and take measurements and compare them to the 722.6. I really hope I do not need to swap tail shafts and cut the drive shaft.

If anything I will just get the 606 running and install it with the 4 speed vacuum controlled transmission and work on the 722.6 swap. To do that I need a spare 603 spin on fuel filter housing with all of the lines and something to connect the oil lines together. I might just get some hose and slip it over the ends.

Then once its in the car I have to figure out how to control the injection pump since I cannot use the 603 set up. as well as redo the glow plug system plug, cooling hoses, swap in a 400E sway bar so the pan clears and some other fun things.

Perhaps you know this and have addressed the issue elsewhere in this thread, but you can't use the 603 cruise actuator and throttle assembly if you keep the 606 oil filter housing. I swapped over the 603 unit and had to do some clearance work on the manifold and lid. I also had to modify the metal frame used to hold the cruise actuator. Take a look at the pics I posted in the BW thread if you want to see what I'm on about. I apologize if this is already well known stuff.

Oh yeah, totally knew that. I was planning on going with the 603 housing anyways.

I was hoping to avoid using the cruise control actuator since I am going with the 722.6 but I guess I still need it to give input for the TPS. I'm still on the hunt for the 606 NA throttle linkages

Why not use the 606 ECU and pump along with the 722.6 and stand alone controller? If I were to do my project again, that's the approach I'd take.

It's a little too late to do that now anyways since that car has been crushed. But I am going with a stand alone controller that is half the cost of the one offered by someone on this forum.

My small haul for today

Plus a W210 throttle position sensor, W126 rear view mirror (should fit my w124). I totally forgot to get some 6 pin plugs for my euros I have coming. The 400E sway bar is a direct swap and it will give at least 5" of clearance for the 606. I might swap it in soon just to show.

and I need to get a charger for my digital camera....I'm tired of using my iPhone for pictures to document this

Got my 603 fuel filter housing in. Mounts perfectly in place. I just need to get new copper crush washers. Plus a new crush washer for my cars oil filter housing center tube.

Anyways... slight progress.

Does it have an internal waste gate?

Also that looks like it has a twin entry tube on the hot side. I'm not too sure how well that will work for you.

This version does not have a wastegate. I have found examples of it on ebay with an internal wastegate. I bought it to hope and try and flip it on ebay. I'll toss it up tomorrow with a reserve of what I paid for it and see what happens. I have an impulse buying problem when it comes to car parts. It came off of a Detroit Diesel that was sitting in a Freightliner that was randomly sitting in the yard. I should have left it..... I could have used that money towards my linkages to be honest.

If anything I can always clean it up and display it as some sort of man art or use it to build a home made gas turbine. It isn't the dumbest thing I have ever purchased.....

Its a twin scroll turbine, it helps direct the exhaust gasses more efficiently to the turbine. As long as its a T3 mount or whatever it may be it will work. But I sold the turbo to some other crazy person.

update for today

Decided to finally get some hose to connect the oil cooler lines together and some fuel line.

Now I just need some oil and a gallon or two of diesel. Then figure out how to warm the plugs and crank it.
