This is a factually incorrect statement.

Some diesels will, but not the one's we're talking about here. The oil in my '03 Dodge is still coffee colored after 18K miles, but that's an exception.

I have a 4B Cummins diesel motor in a Case skid steer that had amber oil in it when I bought it and after 3 full tanks of fuel is still the same color. The injector pump is mechanical not computer.

Stating that something is factually incorrect then offering no reasons why or what is correct carries no weight.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Anyway, it's advice I've gotten from skilled classic Benz diesel mechanics I've met in person. I'll take that over the internet's advice. But we now have both sides represented here, which is always nice; he can decide his path. Peace!

..........of course you did. All skilled classic Benz diesel mechanics would recommend "flushing" the engine to get rid of the black diesel oil..............
