Home made valve adjustment wrenches, large socket (46mm?) and extension for fuel tank screen plug.

W114/115/107/126(1st gen)/123 rear wheel bearing 2 pinned socket
W123 spring compressor (cheapo knock off that still cost the best part of 200 euros)
The set of three valve adjusting spanners (for OM61X engines)...

...I think that's it for official special tools. I've made and improvised other stuff though.

Most important MB tool

The most important and highly specialized Mercedes tool I have is a membership to this forum.

CHEERS!!! Here's to everyone that contributes to the forum and helps others keep their car on the road.

Amen to that! I would have given up on my 240D long ago without the help of this forum.

The only physical tools I own are homemade valve adjustment wrenches and early style glow plug reamer.

I had to buy and cut down a 22mm socket to remove the screen from my 126 fuel tank. I've got a Torx bit shortened to help with water pump removal on the Sprinters at work. I have an old chrome socket that pulls the 617 nozzles with no troubles. I don't remember exactly how I did it but I was able to adjust the valves on the old 617 without special wrenches. Although I remember thinking it would have been easier with special tools. I've collected a few parts to make a pop tester but I'm not putting effort into that at this time. I suppose I'll have some tools related to changing a timing chain and checking timing when I get back to that job.

The shipping would kill the deal for most forum members if I were to lend stuff out!
