There is slight nailing at cold idle that smooths out around 900 rpm (not revving the nuts off a cold engine I mind you). I have the car for sale but I would like to know that the potential buyer is getting a trouble free engine. This is new territory for me. I've never touched diesel injectors on any of my 5 other previously owned diesel Mercs. Any advice would be appreciated. I sifted through some old threads via search and didn't find much. It's a shame we don't have "time between overhaul" like Pratt & Whitney PT6 fuel nozzles!
The inj's should be pop and spray tested; any that can't be corrected to meet spec by installing new shims and cleaning should receive new nozzles too.
