My 83 300cd needs a trans ,will a 240d trans be the same? I wasnt sure since the 300cd is more HP OUTPUT.

No, the 240s are all 722.1xx. The turbo 617s used the 722.3xx

It was a local listing for a 240d with a rebuilt trans that caught my eye ,if it matched I would be off to buy it sight unseen ,good trans with all those spare parts for a meer $500.The motor is bad so its probably something for someone else ,not looking for a new project.
