Okay. How about the lower circle? What is that? A mounting bracket? Is it supposed to look like that?

The later models have a rear Mounting Bracket and the bottom end bolts to the Block and the upper art to the Fuel Injection Pump; but it does not look like that.
But, it may be the correct one. That bracket should not cause an issue if you decide to sell the Fuel Injection Pump.

Where did you get the pump? find it some place or pull it off a engine?
f you pulled it, then you would know where the bracket mounted.
The bracket is probably to take the weight off the mounting bolts from vibration.

I would have cleaned the engine or at least the pump area before removing it. less chance to get grit into the fuel inlet areas.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power

A forum member was giving away parts from his '76 and I took this after no-one else spoke up for it, so I have no idea as to how it was mounted. I was going to take it apart, but since then I bought two Royal typewriters from the 1930s that I'm focusing on...
