Can't sleep, so might as well do something besides lay there counting in the dark...

The C.D.s I have are missing a LOT of information. There is nothing on the front or rear suspension, plus a bunch more areas. Need the front suspension section to do some of the work, as the idler and top ball joint mount are not in the Wiki. Was told not to use the Haynes, so what else does one use?

For part numbers, where does one go besides the E.P.C.? For some reason it will not allow me to have an account. All I need is the part numbers for the front suspension, as the idler bushings are N.L.A. so trying to find N.O.S.. Did find the front and rear spring part numbers in the manual, so made some progress.

Thank you all in advance!

Thank you all for the replies!

That's odd... Guess that tells you how sleep deprived I have been over the last few months. Over slept this morning, so feel a bit more alive.

Didn't think to check under steering!

So, what do I do in regards to lack of information?

The trick is searching right. Sometimes you need no spaces, spaces, or dashes, for example.

Plus, I thought this sight might actually have something to offer, and others do!

Missed this...

I can figure out number one, but two is presenting a challenge. Could be the lack of food (half cup of oats this morning only). Over time, I can do this. Might be good for the down times in studio!

If you don't have an original CD set there is no telling what issues you could have with it.

Mine has the Front End Stuff but does not have any Front End alignment specs in it.

About 2 days ago I found out something else I did not know. (In My case I copied the 2 Disc set to My hard drive.)
I was looking for information on removing and installing the outside Body Trim at the bottom of the Door. When I looked in the CD there is no mention of it in any of the indexes.
I have the 2 Set Body And Chassis Books and I looked it up and the info I wanted was in the Book. I copied Down the Section Numbers from the Book and went back to the Computer and double left clicked on MERCEDES MANUAL 2; the double left clicked on Programs; double left clicked on Chassis.

When you do that you will see the section numbers as they are listed in the Books.
What I found is that the information on the Trim was actually there; but, for some reason does not show up in the index.

I also found that in the Book there is an extensive section on removing parts of the Body where you cut through the Spot Welds and re-weld the new sections on. None of that is in the CD Manual.

So there may be other things in the Manual that are not visible in the indexes.

Thank you so very much for the reply!

I saw that when I first got the C.D., but until now couldn't really understand it. Now with all the information you have given, can start looking through and making some sense.

Maybe in the very distant future, will see about picking up an actual physical shop manual. For now, bread is beyond tight.
