I noticed a leak and put it on a rack with it running, and the leak was coming right between the engine and bellhousing.
Everyone I have talked to says it is the RMS.
I have added a quart of Lucas, and also a bottle of Blue Devel RMS leak repair. It slowed down the leak for a while, but now it has increased, and I am adding about a 2 quarts of oil per week. (obviously making a mess everywhere I park)
I have a few questions:
- Do I need to go any further with my diagnosis? I can literally see it leaking(dripping), and cant find any leak anywhere else.
- I have heard that they make a type of repair kit in the event that the crank has a groove in it. does anyone know what that is called, and where I can get one?
- I am pretty sure I have to pull the tranny. About how many hours labor does the book show to R&R the tranny?
- I want to get the parts ahead of time. a few people say this has a rope gasket, others say it is a regular gasket with a flange. does anyone know for sure?
