Issuses with cruise control
Today my girl was driving the car to work on the freeway while she was driving the cruise control came on by itself. At least from what she described to me that is what I think happened.
The car was at about 70mph and held there for a time then she pressed the brake to slow the car which it did slow. Since I have had the car the cruise control never worked until this incident. What would cause the cruise to come on by itself?

Maybe the throttle linkage isn't lubed and it just seemed like the cruise engaged.
If, for safety's sake, you want to make sure the cruise will never engage, unplug the cable that comes from the actuator.

How would you lube the throttle cable?
I drove the car home and no issuses.

Not the cable...the linkage, the moving parts, especially pivot points....all the stuff that the cable pulls. You can use ATF. Should be done every 15,000 miles or so.

Not sure I wasn't in the car at the time this happened,
The CC stalk I think is broken, I was playing with it one day while driving and now I can twist in circles, and the CC hasn't worked since I owned the car.

In that case it's possible I suppose that a random connection is made. If you don't have any plans to use cruise, just disconnect the cable. Then you don't ever have to be concerned about it.
