78 300D Vacuum Pump Repair Parts

I was loosing vacuum and I heard rattling sounds, so I thought I would pull the vac pump and go through it. The bearings seen ok as the cam follower spins smoothly with out side play. The pump section had alot of oil inside, I let it drain out. No metal shavings noticed.
Looking at pelican parts for the repair kit, I see for engines through 1089789, an Effebe vacuum diaphram 000-586-41-43-M27 and a Meistersatz repair kit 000-586-40-43-INT. Also an MB gasket.
Looking at the front of my engine, I see engine no. 617 0160301. Is that the location of the number, does it sound correct? The owners manual ponts th the right side of the engine but I don't see anything from above.
I read up on some old posts and there is much discussion about O-rings in kits not being correct. Will the Meistersatz match up? Also horror stories about bearing failure but if mine are ok then I would like to leave alone.
Also, If someone can lead me to a rundown of the R&R, that would be great.

Chap 43-365 and 43-618 in the FSM I'm afraid. I don't know of a good vacuum pump R&R thread. There's this discussion about the bearings (with some tips) though

VACUUM PUMP FAILURE! Are you neglecting yours??

I can't help with the parts content problem - you need to speak to Pelican about that I guess (or the dealer).

The numbers you posted look very much like the engine number. You should be able to see it just next to the IP at a height just under the rocker cover gasket.

An engine number is fourteen (14) figures long. It should start with 6179121.......

6170160301 is probably the number of the short block.

Good eyes Govert! Google says 617 0160301 is a cylinder head. Definitely a part number...

On mine it is on the Fuel Injection Pump side of the Engine Block right at the extreme top edge of the Block; not centered but near the Middle of the Block.
