I think I'll join in on the fun...

$1.699/gal for Arco-BP ECD-1 ULSD at the local Arco station. Only stuff I trust in California, not like anything else is cheaper anywhere else.

prices in Utah

I drive between the major metro area (Salt Lake) and a remote rural town (Moab) on a regular basis.

In the Salt Lake area the best price I have found is $1.469 (at Holiday Oil stations with a 5 cent discount for using a Sinclair card). 250 miles away in the Moab area fuel is going for $1.689 (at Walkers which is Chevron).

In between the best price is $1.569 at the Conoco stations in Green River (on I-70) and Wellington.

Diesel still holding near premium unleaded prices here in the Vancouver Washington area. Premium is 1.65 and diesel is 1.63. Gas prices are going down little by little but not diesel. Regular at Arco is 1.38! Its now way cheaper to drive a gasser!

Kinda surprised to see diesel holding steady at the onset of heating season.

Just wait for a really cold snap to hit the NE. That will take us up!

So far prices haven't heated up to badly here in NE Oklahoma. The state tax is somewhat lower right now than many other places, so Diesel is about $1.389 and unleaded Reg is $1.339. However this will be "rectified" by the legislature next year!!

Well - It's Back Cheaper Again

Now my station has diesel for $1.499 and regular gasolene for $1.519.

But I wonder if cold weather is going to impact diesel more than gasolene in the next few weeks. As far as I can tell, gasolene has gone up faster recently.

Ken:

Oh yes. I've seen some impact from the cold weather last week. I expect this continuing situation will make it worse. Here's the recent history in Piedmont NC. I'll update my graph earlier in the thread too:

The cheapest fuel I've seen anywhere is in Texas. I wonder why?
Hmm.

I paid $1.62 a gallon yesterday in Rocky Mount N.C. Bastards.
Mid grade gas was about that price, this is how it stays here.
Frankly it would be pretty easy to find a gas engine vehicle that would have lower fuel costs in this area of NC. The VW diesels are still worth it with there 40+ mpg however.

I left Oklahoma around Thanksgiveing, I was paying $1.20 a gallon out there. It always gets more expensive as you go this way.

Nash County

I used to live in Rocky Mount and have never seen higher diesel prices anywhere else in NC. Drive to Wilson.. 10 miles.. truck stop place on right just before Hwy 117 turns left (past Parker's BBQ) Diesel was always 5 to 10 cent cheaper. I have heard, don't know for fact, that the state has done inverstigations on all distribs in Nash Co and found nothing wrong. Anytime I was away from Nash County I would fill up on diesel.

Well, its about a month since the last posting and prices have really changed here in NE Oklahoma. Even with the lower state tax, Diesel is about $1.449, but unleaded Reg is $1.549 to $1.569. UnLR actually spiked to $1.699 sometime last week for a day or so. Having Diesel prices cheaper than gasoline is very unusual for mid winter around here, and I suspect for almost anywhere. More changes to come.

What part of NE Oklahoma? I call OK home, just don't get to be there much. Fathers living in Guthrie again now, I've lived there and in Ponca City a good bit. You into aircraft? Lycoming is an engine manufacturer, isnt it?
