Big differences

Diesel is running anywhere from $2.85 to $3.29/gallon out here. Regular is about $3.05 per gallon and higher. However, I read in the paper where Phoenix now has the highest gas prices in the nation...higher than California. Biodiesel is $2.85 so I've been running about B25...it runs better with the bio in there.

'loving the diesel. I've only had it a few months but slowly getting everything fixed. Also the dieselkleen from Walmart works wonders.

Right on the verge of "gasolene-gouge" season, and we're holding at 2.599/2.599 diesel/gasolene. Soon diesel will be cheaper again than gasolene.

I'm commuting to work now in the 240D manual which gets about 32 mpg all-around average, so that is helping. The next idea I plan to put into action is a 100-gallon transfer tank for the pickup so I can load up at the truck stop one interstate exit down from where I live. The price there is $2.389.

Then I can refuel the 240D at home for well over a month at a time.

That plus the small stock of veg oil should get me through the mid-Atlantic Katrina this year.

Hey Stock, I'm going to look at a 1965 FJ40 this afternoon. It's been in a barn for years and years and supposedly has less then 40k on the clock.

Unleaded Premium just hit $2.97 a gallon today in North Jersey.

Mercedes announced the return of a diesel option for the 2007 S-Class later this year, I may have to bite the bullet and get a new Merc - I'll keep telling myself it'll pay for itself in the long run...

Its 2.99 for premium here! Diesel is still 2.69 to 2.74 in most places....if it goes up above that I am going to sams club to "fuel" up.

Coming back from NM to PA I saw gasoline as much as $0.14 more than Diesel fuel. But I also saw Diesel fuel $0.20 more than gasoline in the north east.

That's probably due to heating oil still being used in the north east.

But's what the reason for the gasoline going up so much?

Well, for me it has happened again:

$2.799 regular gasolene

$2.699 diesel

----------------

So I am about to get one of those 100 gallon transfer tanks for the pickup bed, along with a hand rotory-crank pump. Those pumps just thread down into the tank. How do I keep people from unthreading the pump and stealing it along with as much fuel as they can carry? One idea that came to mind is threadlocker RED - you have to use a torch to get it to loosen. Not too many people are going to apply a torch to a fuel tank with fuel in it......
