Sorry - the Haynes is silent on this issue. That manual is sort of hit or miss. Turns out my recollection was right - 30-40 lb/ft + 90-100*.
Here's a suggestion - mic the necked area of the bolt right under the head where it is least likely to stretch (there's more metal there) then mic the center of the necked area. If the center is much smaller than the upper area, it's distorted. I'd be guessing on how much is too much but maybe 0.005-0.010? Dan |
