I picked up one of these last Thursday, and intend to (eventually) use it for a daily driver. I drove it around 132 miles to get it home, and I have to say that I'm super impressed...I've been reading how everyone says the 240d is slow (and don't get me started on the 220

), but I found performance to be on par with the Honda I've been driving lately. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hold a candle to my 350SL, but I was still pleasantly surprised. If I estimated right, I got 32mpg on the way back, but I won't know for sure until I fill up again.
Mechanically, it seems perfect--since it's a 5 digit odometer, I'm not sure about the mileage, but I'd guess it's around 230k. One thing, though: it sounds to me that the idle is a little high. Could someone take a listen and tell me one way or the other? This is my first diesel, and I don't really know much about them...I was wanting this to be a learn-as-I-go kind of thing

PS: I drove it around for 15 mins or so to get the engine fully warmed up, and the idle speed adjustment inside the car is as low as it can go.
Thanks,
