What does the 95 E300D manual say for oil change interval?

Just curious....I don't have a manual for my 95 E300D....just curious what it says for oil change interval. Somehow I have manual for the 99 E300, and that says 7500 miles, so I assume it would be the same...OM606. But I read on another board some guy saying his manual said 9000 miles for his 95, which surprised me.

Thanks....again, just looking for what the manual for the 95 says.

So the '99 E300 didn't have the on-board oil analysis system?

I may be wrong, but my '99 E300 goes by miles as to when notifications illuminate. Perhaps the FSS system is capable of oil analysis, but I doubt it. However, I ignore the 'service due now' that illuminates on every start-up for 15-seconds or so. I keep an up to date service log notebook in the glove compartment.

I meant FSS. I couldn't think of the acronym. I thought FSS checks oil conductivity as part of its algorithm. Does the '99 E300 manual state a 7500 mile interval if the car has FSS?

I run Mobil 1 truck and turbo diesel and change it every 10k miles. Inside of the engine is clean as a whistle.

I've never seen the inside of a whistle but I imagine it's full of spit

All '99s have FSS.

I can't recall where the Owner's Manual states oil change interval, besides the following;
the following is what it does state:

QUOTED FROM OWNER'S MANUAL: PAGES 95 & 96:
Flexible Service System

The FSS permits a flexible service schedule that is directly realated to the operating conditions of the vehicle.

The symbol (WRENCH) appears together with a message in the multifunction indicator prior to the next suggested service.

Depending on operating conditions throughout the year, the next service is calculated and displayed in days or distance remaining.

The message is displayed for approx. 10 seconds when turning the electronic key in steering lock to position 2, or while driving when reaching the service warning threshold. It can be canceled manually by pressing button 0.

Once the suggested term has passed, the symbol plus message "SERVICE....DUE?" appear for approx. 30 seconds and a signal sounds every time when turning the electronic key in steering lock to position 2.

The FSS display can also be called up for approx. 10 seconds with display illuminated by pressing button 0 twice within 1 second.

The FSS allows for distances between 10,000 miles (Canada: 15,000 km) and 16,000 miles (Canada: 25,000 km), or from 365 to 730 days between services.

Following a completed A or B service the Mercedes-Benz dealer sets the counter to 10,000 miles (Canada: 15,000 km) and 365 days.

For the past 10 years, I have followed the 10,000 miles interval between changing of the Mobil 1 and MB oil filter, on my '99 E300D.
